How does ART® feel?

ART® treatments are performed by the doctor placing a hand contact on a specific area of tissue, then either moving the area, or having the patient move the area through a specific movement pattern.

Treatments may feel uncomfortable during the first few visits until a significant amount of the adhesions and scar tissue are broken up. Typically, the discomfort diminishes within minutes of the treatment. It is common to have a reoccurance of the symptoms that you started with; this is a good sign and indicates that the correct area is being treated.

Treatments usually last between eight and fifteen minutes, and it may require six to eight visits for optimal results. Patients usually report a "good hurt".

The goals of ART®...

- Restore optimal tissue tone, texture and movement
- Restore strength, flexibility and function to the soft tissue being treated
- Release any soft tissue restrictions affecting nerves, circulatory or lymphatic structures

ART® training...

To become certified, providers of ART® must complete extensive written and hands-on instruction as well as, examinations. Providers learn over 300 protocols for the spine, upper extremities and lower extremities. Providers are required to re-certify every year in order to stay current with the latest developments in treatment.
